Swift Transportation, the market leader in the trucking business with more trucks on the road than any other trucking company, has agreed to a buyout.

Jerry Moyes, the founder of the trucking company, plans to pay a 14% premium or $31.55 per share for the stock when the deal was announced, for a total of $2.74 billion. The Phoenix-based truck company with almost 18,000 trucks on the road and offering heavy haul, dedicated, intermodal, refrigerated, and most other trucking services.
